How CBD works in our body
We know that CBD has vast therapeutic and medical effects. But how CBD actually works inside our body is still a mystery to many. This newsletter will give you a better understanding of how this miracle product functions in your body.
CBD has the ability to keep our body in Homeostasis.
CBD stands for cannabidiol. Cannabidiol receptors are key components of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). ECS is responsible for maintaining homeostasis or balance in our body. Everything in our body needs to be just right to function optimally, such as temperature, sugar level, salt level, oxygen level, bacteria, cell growth rates, etc...Diseases cause imbalance condition in our body which makes us sick. And abnormal cell growth can develop into a tumor.
Cannabinoid receptors are the key components of the Endocannabinoid system located on the surface of cells. Cannabinoid receptors respond to the changing conditions outside the cell by reporting abnormal conditions to the inside of the cell which initiates the appropriate cellular response to keep our body in balance.
The CB1 and CB2 are the two major receptors in the endocannabinoid system (ECS). They are located throughout the body. However CB1 receptors are more abundant in the central nervous system, such as the brain. CB2 receptors are more abundant in other systems such as the immune system. The immune system is our body's defense against diseases. Cannabinoids (CBD) has the ability to activate the cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2 to help our body respond to the abnormal conditions and bring our body back to the proper balance needed to function optimally.
